LuMin is excited to announce the “LuMin Scholarship for International Travel.”
Established through a generous, anonymous gift, the scholarship will fund travel opportunities for newer LuMin members who are current practitioners and who have served 10 years or less in campus ministry.
Destination options include:
- Palestine/Israel
- Eastern Germany (Luther/Holocaust history)
- the international companion church in relationship to the practitioner’s Synod
The “LuMin Scholarship for International Travel” Program will provide two $7000 scholarships in 2022. (We also anticipate two scholarships in 2023 and 2024.) As per the donors’ request, at least one of the scholarships will be awarded to a BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ practitioner annually. Recipients will arrange their own trips, and funds must be used within 2 years.
In the donors’ letter they shared:
“[This gift] comes from a place of gratitude for several faith deepening international travel opportunities we have had during our years of campus and congregational ministry. We would like to help make it possible for others to have similar experiences.”
The LuMin Scholarship for International Travel application can be accessed below. The application form must be completed by April 1, 2022. A team appointed by the LuMin Board will review applications and announce recipients by April 15, 2022.
Current LuMin Board members are not eligible for the LuMin Scholarship for International Travel.
